In 1958, Vincent Price was the first to play this scientist about to experiment his teleportation device on himself. But when a fly makes the journey with him inside his machine, they both come out of it transformed. This first variation on the theme of mutation was soon followed by 2 sequels. In 1986, David Cronenberg stuns the public and amazes the fantasy fans when they slowly see Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, Independance Day) change into an unforgettable monster… « The Fly 2 » also offers some nice special effects but this film concentrates more on easy thrillers when the Cronenberg film essentially showed the torments of a scientist who discovers his days are counted for… A collection that will delight fantasy fans, a great opportunity to rediscover some of the best cult films about genetic mutations.
