THE MEDIADIS.COM REVIEW

Finally put together inside a box set - and what a box set - you can now own all the film adaptations of the novel by author Georges Langelaan. In 1958, Vincent Price was the first to play this scientist about to experiment his teleportation device on himself. But when a fly makes the journey with him inside his machine, they both come out of it transformed. This first variation on the theme of mutation was soon followed by 2 sequels. In 1986, David Cronenberg stuns the public and amazes the fantasy fans when they slowly see Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, Independance Day) change into an unforgettable monster… « The Fly 2 » also offers some nice special effects but this film concentrates more on easy thrillers when the Cronenberg film essentially showed the torments of a scientist who discovers his days are counted for… A collection that will delight fantasy fans, a great opportunity to rediscover some of the best cult films about genetic mutations.
