Ben Stiller is back in the role that made him a bankable star: Larry is now a successful entrepreneur since his gadgets are finally selling, he even hosts his own teleshopping cable show! But when his old pals from New York's Museum of Natural History are transferred to be archived at the Smithsonian in Washington, only he can help. Then starts a thrilling adventure when Larry meets a new gallery of historical characters among whom the famous aviator Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams, Enchanted) who develops a crush on him, and Napoleon himself (Alain Chabat)! This fantasy film is a family romper that will fascinate the young audience thanks to spot-on special effects allowing a dinosaur skeleton or miniatures and wax statues to interact with real actors in a genuine way. The film is maybe a tad longer than necessary to the story, but the exceptional visit at the Smithsonian is well worth watching, 'Battle of the Smithsonian' being the first movie ever to be filmed there.
